BACKGROUND: Aracely at the Marvel wiki / Scarlet Spider history
After Kaine does all this crazy shit something something Spider Island, he decides to run off to Mexico, and amazingly ends up in Texas like a giant loser. On one of his more unique anti-heroing expeditions, he finds Aracely in a locker among a sea of dead bodies. He hears her cry and pulls her out. Unfortunately, she doesn't remember anything of who she is or where she came from. After a trip to the hospital later, she seems to take to him instantly despite the amnesia, and he becomes her reluctant guardian. With some choice acts of heroism, the media dubs Kaine the Scarlet Spider, and the two head off for adventure and barbecue. Kaine’s internal turmoilish mainpain frequents some conflicting feelings for Aracely, but in the end the two of them become as close as family. She balances him, pulls him from his more destructive moments, and adds a cheery demeanor to the otherwise gray cloud above Kaine's head.

They take on villains, keep Houston safe, and even fight some werewolves! Aracely starts falling into herself, and eventually starts getting visions of the Aztec god Huitzilopochtli, of whom she is the host. She becomes Kaine's sidekick who's unafraid of using her new empathetic powers of manipulation to invoke fear into their enemies. And throughout their crazy adventures fighting assassins and trying to kill Wolverine, she sticks right by his side. Even when he’s rejected and leaves Houston because of the people that he’s unwillingly harmed, she follows him to Mexico. Of course, her vague past isn't without it's more harmful moments, she admits that she's sure she's done some bad things too. She isn't just a sunny exterior, but also a steady pillar. Someone who won't judge his past actions, and sticks by him, even when he has a beard.

Kaine and Aracely head to Mexico on their own personal mission. It’s not long before they become intertwine in the call of heroism once again. While Aracely urges Kaine to take up the Scarlet Spider (and reluctantly Kaine obliges), the High Evolutionary plots to kill all mutants, demigods, clones, and whatever is deemed an “anomaly.” Hooking up with Nova, Speedball, Justice, Sun Girl, Water Snake and guy with a horn they take him down as the New Warriors.

And now they all seem to be stuck together, whether Kaine likes it or not
PERSONALITY:
Despite a tragic background, Aracely is upbeat, perky, and enthusiastic. She’s a bit loud, and on the obnoxious side, but she’s a very simple person with simple pleasures. She approaches life in a very glass-half-full fashion, taking each moment as it comes and looking for the merit in everything. She’s never one to care completely about the future or past, but someone who lives very much in the present and takes it how it is. For her guardian, Kaine, who’s the exact opposite, she retains her pleasant demeanor and doesn’t put too much thought into the things that she does. Thus, she’s enamored by cute things, caught by earthly pleasures like barbecue, and easily swept up in moments of heroism. She's perky, speaks quickly when excited, and meets almost everyone openly. She doesn't mind touch, keeps her body motions fluid, and even when there's an awkward conversation, doesn't seem to be drawn into the awkwardness of it. There's nothing but an eagerness to connect without any doubts or fears of how people will see her.

She could be seen as somewhat innocent (obligatory “despite her past” here again), with the way that she carries herself and sees the goodness in others and the world. Being ported by traffickers didn’t hinder her connections to people—in fact, it’s almost as if it never happened at all. She’s eager to make friends, ready to open up, and doesn’t really seem to think much of her own secrets. During an impromptu introduction session, she spills a bit more about her backstory then would make anyone comfortable, to the point where the New Warriors are like “wow, your backstory is sure convoluted.” She doesn’t seem to put too much stake into keeping her own secrets, and isn’t anything but open.

Much of her emotional invitations may come from the reading of the people around her. Since she can “sense” emotions, she has a good idea of when she can open up, and when it might be a bad idea to do anything but flee. And boy, does she know when to flee! She has no qualms allowing Kaine to protect her, and will tear off while he decides to fight the baddies. While she definitely cares about him, she keeps his feelings in mind while she acts and reacts. Sometimes this also means obnoxious love, where she’s very outright and loud about his man-sulking.

Kaine’s broody, fussy manpain doesn’t seem to deter her in the least. Actually, no one’s really does. She’s cheerful enough to a giant ray of sunshine in pulling Kaine out of his gloom (which includes pulling him out of bed and demanding that he deposit cash in the swear jar when he swears, which is basically every other word). His inner sense of turmoil also doesn’t seem to bother her—she knows he’s not a good person, and nor does she try to tell him otherwise when he states it. Instead, Aracely has good idea of what makes someone a bad person, she’s also claimed that she thinks she’s done some awful things (as the host of the Aztec god of sacrifice, possibly). The “good” and “bad” stance take backseat to the goodness and kindness that she feels that Kaine can do, and herself, as well. It’s one of her main reasons for pursuing heroism and saving people.

That’s not to say that she won’t use some pretty messed up means to do it. Aracely’s specialty is manipulating emotions, and not only does she not seem to understand that it’s possibly uncomfortable to have someone pass that boundary into emotional manipulation, but most of the time she uses it to inflict fear on her victims. She’s sent a lot of screaming, helpless people away by either using vague terms like “fear” and “you’re scared,” and even has gone into specifics such as “arachnophobia.” Her priorities and sense of boundaries seem to skew not only emotionally, but also physically. She’ll approach strangers openly and go into their heads, learn languages and get bits of information that she wishes to learn, all without remorse or second thought.

She doesn’t really seem to give second thoughts about anything. It’s all pretty straight-forward to her. Consequences of her actions when she’s trying to do good, or even consequence of manipulating people’s emotions to suit her heroing needs. She has an interesting perspective on what she deems as invasive. It’s mentioned in New Warriors that she sort of “lives in her own little world.” Nothing ever seems to stop her, despite that. She’s a person of action, of the moment, and keeps her sights on where she is currently; the future and the past are just afterthoughts.
POWER: Also see permissions!
Aracely’s strengths in her abilities are in her empathetic abilities. While she shows promise in all three psychic aspects, they all seem to tie into the whole of her abilities, which relate to the Aztec god Huitzilopochtli, of whom she is the host. She's been called a "demigod" by the High Evolutionary. What she's capable of has even stunned the X-Men and their appropriate telepaths at the time, so much so that she was pointedly kept away from them. The three abilities listed umbrella into her power as a demigod.

Empathetic abilities
Aracely’s strongest ability, her empathetic powers allow her to feel the resonance of the emotions around her, even at long distances. She can pinpoint them to specific people, and she can also get a “general feeling” when there are strong emotions around her. This ability also allows her to manipulate emotions (fear, especially), even so far into specific fears of certain things (arachnophobia as an example).
Telekinesis / self-powered levitation
Aracely’s mild telekinetic abilities are mostly used to make herself float. She likes to float upside-down sometimes when she’s sleeping. She can also “think” things around her and “make them appear,” she does this with her costume, which appears because she claims she “thought about it really hard.”
Telepathic abilities
She can sense thoughts and project her own thoughts into people’s heads, though she’s only demonstrated this with Kaine so far. The whole ability seems a bit trial and error with her, as it boils all the way down to “thinking really hard about something,” again. She’s also capable of learning other languages from others. Currently she can speak Spanish, English, Japanese and Romanian.
